Pour arriver \u00e0 ce r\u00e9sultat, les chercheurs ont utilis\u00e9 des cellules souches \u00ab\u00a0pluripotentes\u00a0\u00bb (\u00e9galement appel\u00e9es cellules \u00ab\u00a0na\u00efves\u00a0\u00bb) qui pr\u00e9sentent la particularit\u00e9 de ne pas avoir de fonction pr\u00e9d\u00e9finie, et d&rsquo;\u00eatre capables de se transformer en diff\u00e9rentes sortes de cellules. Certaines de ces cellules ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9es pour devenir l&#8217;embryon, d&rsquo;autres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 transform\u00e9es en\u00a0placenta, en sac vitellin ou encore en membrane extra-embryonnaire du m\u00e9soderme, et ce en activant \u00ab\u00a0simplement\u00a0\u00bb des g\u00e8nes sp\u00e9cifiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les souches ainsi r\u00e9unies se sont ensuite auto-organis\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re totalement spontan\u00e9e, et ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 se d\u00e9velopper jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 former des \u00ab\u00a0mod\u00e8les d&#8217;embryon\u00a0\u00bb. Les chercheurs ont ensuite pu observer ces embryons cro\u00eetre sans aucune difficult\u00e9, pendant 14 jours: il s&rsquo;agit de la limite l\u00e9gale autoris\u00e9e dans le cadre de recherche embryonnaire (loi de la\u00a0bio\u00e9thique\u00a0de 2021). A ce\u00a0stade, ils mesuraient 0,5mm et contenaient environ 2500 cellules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00eame si ces r\u00e9sultats peuvent poser des questions \u00e9thiques, ils vont pouvoir permettre d&rsquo;en savoir plus sur les premiers stades du d\u00e9veloppement embryonnaire, encore trop peu connus \u00e0 ce jour.
